The Two FrogsA SHEPHERD, keeping watch over his sheep near the shore, saw the Sea very calm and smooth, and longed to make a voyage with a view to commerce. He sold all his flock, invested it in a cargo of dates, and set sail. But a very great tempest came on, and the ship being in danger of sinking, he threw all his merchandise overboard, and barely escaped with his life in the empty ship. Not long afterwards when someone passed by and observed the unruffled calm of the Sea, he interrupted him and said, "It is again in want of dates, and therefore looks quiet."

Based off of Bohemia Interactive's popular PC survival game, this time around you're playing it on the go and in pixel form.

When you're plonked in the middle of randomly generated chaos, it's up to you to scavenge, build, upgrade, and kill a ton of stuff. However, as Jon Mundy says in his preview of the game, this feels like more of a "videogame mash-up of Cormac McCarthy's The Road and The Walking Dead".

Finally, Mini DayZ will be launching worldwide on iOS and Android on July 3rd, so keep an eye out - or just let us do it for you.

Source.

Lazara Battle Heroes, a gritty looking idle RPG from Gadgets Gaming is available now for Android. It features a deep campaign mode, as well as some interesting subversions of the usual hero-collection genre.

Where in most idle games the combat is dressed up as another format, or wholly automated, Lazara Battle Heroes attempts to retain classic side-on RPG fighting, with a lot of the standard idle elements focusing around progression when the app is closed. It features turn-based play - with you using your assembled squad of heroes to push back against the evil which has flooded the once peaceful fantasy world.

Naturally, as with any hero collection title, a large part of the game is in carefully collecting (one by one) and nurturing the heroes who will be partaking in your battles. Developers, Gadgets Gaming, made it clear that they want the game to be thought of like an RPG first, so the team composition is of critical, strategic importance.
"I've brought my work, Mrs. Blythe, dearie," she remarked, unrolling some dainty material. "I'm in a hurry to get this done, and there isn't any time to lose."

The trenches of World War One weren’t exactly a Saturday afternoon picnic, but in ZWar1: The Great War of the Dead’s alternative timeline, they’re so much worse. Ether Games’ mobile first-person-shooter, cum strategy hybrid, takes the term ‘horrors of war’ literally; select players can experience them first-hand, now that the game has entered closed beta.

Bullets and mustard gas and aren’t the only things you have worry about in ZWar1. The game takes place in a diesel-punk version of the WW1 era, where a villain known as the Black Reverend has used ‘Auferstehung Gas’ to raise an army of weaponised undead and opened portals to dimensions full of Lovecraftian horrors.

It’s trench warfare with added undead and extra-dimensional monstrosities roaming the battlefield. The action takes place from first person perspective and combines tower defence and light RPG elements, with a wave-shooter.

ZWar1 visuals bring to life backdrops including trenches, muddy battlefields, destroyed townships and interdimensional portals.

Using authentic WW1 weapons, it’s your job to hold defensive positions at these locations. You and your squad face an onslaught of undead and eldritch creatures; gun them down, trap them on barbed wire, impale them with bayonets, blast them with grenades, send fighters against Winged Horrors and drop artillery barrages on Great Ones, all in the hope that your platoon will live to see another day.

If Battlefield 1 mashed up with Lovecraftian fiction and tower defence themes sounds like your cup of Cthulhu, you can sign up for ZWar1: The Great War of the Dead’s closed beta via the developer’s official website now. Testing is underway for iOS users now and will be coming to Android in the near future.
